About our club

Stratford Tennis Club is a private tennis facility established in 1977 in Danville, Virginia. Stratford has 6 professionally maintained Har Tru courts. The club is located at 182 Churchview Drive, Danvile, VA 24541. For the competitive or social, for the beginner or experienced player, Stratford Tennis Club is available for the entire family to enjoy.

We welcome your interest in Stratford Tennis Club. Our goal is to provide you with the opportunity to participate in a variety of tennis activities or to just enjoy playing tennis with good friends.

  • LEAGUES & TOURNAMENTS: Stratford Provides Men's, Women's And Mixed League Play Culminating In Yearly Club Championship Tournaments.​
  • GUEST POLICY:
  • Guests must be accompanied by a member
  • All guest pay a $10 per visit guest fee
  • In-town guests limited to three (3) visits. Out-of-town guests (50 miles+) unlimited visits.
  • Violating guest fee policy will result in Treasurer billing the Stratford member the $10 fee.
  • Guests must be registered in the clubhouse PRIOR to start of play

Our Memberships

Thank you for your interest in the Stratford Tennis Club! Stratford was chartered to promote tennis and well being in the Danville community and we welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family to discuss the sport, the community, and joining the club. We are always interested in new members and invite you to be our guest to try out the courts. Recently, the Stratford Tennis Club was selected by the NCTA as the Danville area Tennis Welcome Center.

Stratford’s membership is comprised of a wide range of experience levels, from the beginner to the more advanced player with NTPR ratings as high as 4.5. If you are looking for a place to practice USTA league matches or just learn the sport, Stratford must be your first stop in Danville.

*Purchasing online will result in a 3% convenience fee.

Our Rules

  1. Members must register guests before playing. 
  2. Playing time is limited to 1 1/2 hours for singles and 2 hours for doubles, when others are waiting. 
  3. Proper tennis appeal should be worn at all times. This includes shirts and proper shoes. 
  4. Observe proper court etiquette at all times. 
  5. The last person to leave the courts at night should always make sure all lights are off and that the gates and clubhouse are locked behind them.

From beginner to seasoned veteran, everyone can benefit from lessons! Stratford Tennis Club does not have a teaching pro continuously available on site. We do have a wonderful relationship with the Southside Area Tennis Association (SATA). Individual and Group lessons are offered through this organization and provided by instructors working with Tim DiNoto, the SATA Manger.
